Ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease are chronic inflammatory bowel diseases that belong to the group of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. Inflammatory bowel diseases are immune-mediated diseases that are conducive to genetic predisposition and arise from environmental factors still to be identified.
